Meet The Families
Jamie Durie & Ameka Jane
Jamie Durie and Ameka Jane are taking on one of their most daring projects yet: a 3D-printed concrete home that promises to flip the script on everything we think we know about building.
Never one to sit quietly on the sidelines, Jamie has jumped head-first into the challenge of constructing a brand-new dwelling on his farm — one that will finally retire the old, mouldy, cockroach-infested guest house that has long overstayed its welcome.
Together, Jamie and Ameka are embracing cutting-edge construction with a home that’s literally printed, layer by layer, from concrete. It’s bold, it’s experimental, and it’s packed with that signature spark they bring to every creative adventure. This is the Durie Twist — sustainability meets innovation, wrapped in Jamie’s design flair and Ameka’s eye for style.
This isn’t just another building project.
It’s a world-first statement piece.
A boundary-pushing, head-turning home you truly have to see to believe.
Meet Michael and Helen Fox
Michael and Helen Fox may be separated, but they remain united in the most important mission of their lives: creating a supportive, stable future for their daughter, who has special needs. Their story is one of cooperation, resilience, and deep family commitment.
Together, they’re building two dwellings on the same block — independent spaces, but close enough to provide the daily support, connection, and teamwork their daughter relies on. It’s a unique arrangement that reflects who they are as parents: practical, dedicated, and always putting their child first.
Their new homes are being constructed by HiTech Modular Homes, using an innovative modular building system. Each dwelling is built in a specialised factory, then transported to the site — a smart, efficient method that allows the Fox family to create their new living spaces with speed, and minimal disruption.
For Michael and Helen, this isn’t just a building project. It’s the next chapter in how they care for their daughter, support her, and shape a future that keeps their family close — even as they live in separate homes.
Meet the Quercini Family
Sean and Sarah Quercini, along with their three little adventurers — Teddy (4), Lily (2½), and baby April — are a young family stepping into one of their biggest projects yet: building their own home.
Sean spent years working in emergency services, but after an accident changed his path, he found himself stepping into full-time dad life. Turns out, he’s a natural. Between school runs, snack negotiations, and toddler diplomacy, he’s now exploring a new future as a teacher — a career that fits his capable, big-hearted nature.
Sarah works in Forensic Medicine, bringing precision and focus to her job. She’s the steady hand in the family, juggling work, kids, and the excitement (and occasional madness) of building a home from the ground up.
Now, the Quercinis are diving into their next chapter: creating a home through an innovative construction system. From planning to pouring, triumphs to hiccups, they’re sharing the whole journey — the real, honest, family version of building a dream.
A new home, new goals, and a family who tackles everything with heart, humour, and plenty of coffee — that’s the Quercini story so far. And it’s just getting started.
Ameka Jane
Ameka Jane is a singer-song writer, mama of two, human mannequin and fiancé-oni to Jamie Durie, Garden Extrordinaire. You could call her Mother Earth, (that’s a joke).
A Jill of all trades Ameka is not afraid of trying something new. Passionate about sharing real-life stories with the world, whether this be with a guitar in her hand, on a build site, finger painting or walking a red carpet - Ameka is on a mission to create a life that is authentic, gentle and beautiful, leaving you to linger a while and keep everyone connected. “We all want to be a part of something bigger, to know that we aren’t alone in our experience.”
